Platelet Rich Plasma

How Platelet Rich Plasma Can Revitalize Your Skin

An up and coming technique that is growing in popularity of late in the cosmetic skin therapy field is that of utilizing injections of platelet rich plasma to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin. The method uses your own blood for the procedure, reducing the risk of unhealthy side effects and has been proven to be quite effective in restoring aging skin to shiny youthfulness. To help you understand how it works, we will explain how it works and what it can do for you.

Beautiful Lady

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Within your own blood are the building blocks of proteins that your body needs to heal itself, create new skin and keep all of its internal workings healthy and operating. These building blocks are known as platelets, and on their own, they slowly rebuild the body by enriching damaged areas with healing proteins. Several years ago, when stem cell research had just begun, experiments were made with the platelets in the bloodstream, and their effects at different levels of concentration.

The platelet rich plasma injections first gained notice when it was famously used on athletes to heal aggravated conditions faster, so that they could quickly rejoin their teams on the playing field.

By separating the platelets from the other components of your blood with a centrifuge, a concentrated form of healing proteins are created and injected into damaged soft tissues, where it will stimulate all of the cells in that area to begin a rapid healing process. It began with soft tissues but now recent tests have shown success in reversing the effects of both muscle and bone disorders, as well, like arthritis, tendonitis and even plantar fasciitis, otherwise known as heel spurs.

What Does This Mean for Rejuvenating Skin?

The healing effects of the concentrated proteins found in blood platelets, fibrin, fibronectin and vitronectin, have been proven to have amazing healing effects upon virtually every organic part of the body, including organ tissue. The largest organ in the body is the skin, so why not test its effects cosmetically to see if its ability to spur cell regeneration and healing internally would have the same benefits for our outer skin.

When you begin platelet rich plasma injections, the processed serum will be injected into the hypodermal layer of the skin. The enriched protein solution begins work immediately to stimulate collagen production back to the higher levels of our youth, and it also encourages the growth of stem cells, creating new skin cells at a rapid pace. Before long, usually after 2 to 3 treatments, you will see wrinkles and fine lines erased and youthful shining reappearing. Each treatment will last on average, up to 18 months.
