Reduce Cellulite

You’ve seen the little pockets of fat, bulging and dimpling, on other people’s legs and arms, but what do you do when you see them in your mirror? Though there are a number of solutions offered on the market today, True MD can help guide you to the safest and most effective new technologies in the fight against cellulite.

Cellulite is caused by fat deposits bulging out between the nodes of the network of ligaments that connects your skin to your body. The uneven distribution of the fat creates the uneven skin texture that people generally find unappealing. The surgical approach to this problem involves just cutting all these ligaments (which releases the tension in the skin) and filling up the void with more fat. However, this treatment takes a lot of time, money, and pain—and it leaves the treated areas of skin loose, creating possible future problems.

Getting SlimTo achieve the same result without surgery, True MD uses a gentle deep-heating procedure called Thermage. Using a specialized tip on the Thermage wand, the skin is kept cool while heat is being delivered to the pockets of fat underneath, effectively locking the heat in long enough to “melt” the fat. The denatured fat is then slowly absorbed by the body and eliminated, getting rid of the lumps and bumps without affecting the elasticity of the skin or its ligaments. You will see some results immediately, but the effects of Thermage just get better with time, reducing and resisting cellulite for two to three years.

In addition, True MD can use liposolve mesotherapy to dissolve the fat poking out between your ligaments, though the effect will not last as long as with Thermage. Instead of heat, liposolve mesotherapy uses micro-injections of a fat-dissolving solution to do the job. Because the dissolved fat makes its way into the bloodstream and out through the urine, there are some health conditions that may restrict the use of this treatment, but talk to a True MD physician for more details.

Along with these treatments, some prescription-strength creams may be recommended by your True MD physician. Though many over-the-counter creams are marketed to the public as miracle drugs, their effects are limited. Our professional physicians stay up-to-date on the latest research for these products and it’s our job to help you cut through the propaganda and find a cellulite solution that is safe and effective. True MD can also offer diet and exercise assistance through our partnerships with Gold’s Gym and Trinity Medical Center to help you keep any new cellulite from forming.
