Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) has an incredibly safe track record, spanning over a decade of heavy use and impacting over one million patients. Hundreds of scientific studies have evaluated the procedure, finding no systemic complications with the injections (which is more than can be said for the surgical cutting of facial muscles, an older technique).
How does Botox work? Trained physicians inject a very small amount of Botox into the specific facial muscles that cause the dynamic wrinkles.
